Open Die Forging
Open Die Forging
Open Die Forging is a forging process where heated metal is shaped between flat or partially shaped dies. Unlike closed die forging, the dies do not completely enclose the metal, allowing greater flexibility for large and customized components.
Process Overview
- The metal is heated to the required temperature.
- It is placed between open dies.
- The material is shaped through repeated hammering or pressing.
- The operator controls the deformation to achieve the desired dimensions.
Machinery & Capacity
Components manufactured using the drop forging process are stronger and more reliable than parts machined from solid or cast materials.
